Faith Evans has settled her DUI drama. The singer was sentenced Monday (November 29) to three years of probation after pleading no contest to one misdemeanor count of reckless driving involving alcohol stemming from an August DUI bust, Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office spokesperson Frank Mateljan told MTV News. Evans must also pay a $300 fine plus penalties, complete a three-month alcohol program and cannot drive “with any measurable amount of alcohol in her system” while she’s on probation.
Evans was arrested in August for suspicion of drunken driving at a checkpoint in Marina Del Rey, California. The “Love Like This” songstress took to her Twitter after the incident to assure fans that she was doing well and that a visual for her single was coming down the pike.
“Hi Faithfuls…I am on the set of my new video for my single ‘Gone Already.’ I’m sure by now most of you heard that I was detained on suspicion of a DUI,” the “Burnin’ Up” songstress tweeted days after the arrest. “After completing a full day of wardrobe prep I was stopped at a random checkpoint. I’m fine and well, and thank you for your prayers, kind words and concerns. I can’t wait for you all to see my new video & look forward to hearing from u guys…Fizzy.”
The incident follows the “You Gets No Love” singer’s 2004 arrest alongside her husband in Atlanta on drug-possession charges. Evans sidestepped time behind bars by entering a pretrial drug-abuse intervention program and referenced the experience in her 2005 single “Again.”

Following in the tradition of fellow production star Kanye West, Swizz Beatz has conjured up Monster Mondays to dole out free joints on the Web featuring some of his celebrity pals. His latest offering, “Ass on the Floor,” corrals Diddy-Dirty Money into the mix for a slickly atmospheric dance-floor-filler.
Reinvigorating the rapid-fire drums made famous by Major Lazer’s 2009 party must-have “Pon De Floor,” Swizzy adds the spacey sheen of synth chords as the Dirty Money ladies croon about drowning their sorrows over a frustratingly volatile relationship.
“You’re the love of my life/ But you hurt my heart twice/ Now I’m drunker than a motherf—– / Trying to find my way back to your heart you motherf—–,” Kalenna sings.
Production duties aside, Swizzy plays hypeman, commanding the lovelorn souls to forget the drama and “get ya ass on the floor/ Them haters can’t tell you nothing!”
The track’s amped-up rhythm is somewhat at odds with the melancholy lyrics, as Diddy also laments potent heartbreak in his verse.
“That love’s gon’ get ya, motherf—– / Smoke weed, listening to Sade/ I left my pain in Paris/ Why can’t you see sh– my way?” Diddy spits.
The vibe of the song definitely stays on track with the naked emotion the Bad Boy mogul promised on the trio’s long-delayed effort, Last Train to Paris.
“One of the things we’re trying to represent is emotion,” Diddy told MTV News last year. “Not being afraid to show emotion on record. A lot of records out right now — no disrespect to them, but they’re all surface. It’s about what people have or a dance. All our records are gonna be about love, feelings and emotion. Last Train to Paris is a love story and the most vulnerable album I’ve ever been involved in. It’s raw emotion — you get a feeling, a vibe.”
In addition to his Monster Mondays series, Swizzy has been staying busy in the studio and recently previewed some joints from his upcoming Haute Living album on Ustream. Tracks included a thumping midtempo banger featuring Chris Brown, and another song boasting the breathy vocals of his new wife Alicia Keys.

Twisted Sister frontman joins cast of hit Broadway show: ‘Imagine an actual Tyrannosaurus on the set of “Jurassic Park.” ‘By Kyle Anderson

During his mid-1980s peak, Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider was perhaps the definitive hair-metal superstar. He had the pipes (a killer wail), the clothes (a combination of speed-metal denim and glam-rock gender-bending), the hair (a wild blonde mane) and the songs (the signature smashes “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock”).
Unlike many of his contemporaries, he’s not attempting to relive his past glories, even though they’re still playing out in front of him six days a week.

Snider joined the cast of the hit Broadway show “Rock of Ages” about a month ago, and his limited run as bar owner Dennis Dupree has been both thrilling and bizarre.
“The entire situation is completely surreal,” Snider explained to MTV News while sitting in his dressing room before a performance. “Imagine an actual Tyrannosaurus on the set of ‘Jurassic Park.’ They’ve got an actual ’80s guy in a show about the ’80s. I know the people who sing those songs were a little uncomfortable the first few nights.”
The cast quickly got over the jitters of having a legend among them, and everybody quickly settled in. It was the culmination of a long journey for Snider, who has been coveting a slot onstage for a while.
“I would love to tell you that somebody knocked on the door and said, ‘We want you!’ ” Snider admitted. “But the truth is: I was invited to the premiere of the off-Broadway production, where I saw my two songs in the show, and I turned to my wife and said, ‘I want to do that. I could play Dennis Dupree.’ So I let it be known, and it took two years to get asked out on that date.”
As the perpetually stoned tavern owner Dupree, Snider delivers eight killer performances a week. Though two of his signature hits are included in the show, Snider doesn’t sing during either “We’re Not Gonna Take It” or “I Wanna Rock.”
“Those songs are the two big moments of any Twisted Sister show, so it’s weird that I’m not singing them,” Snider explained. “I’m worried that when I go to perform those songs live in a concert setting, I’m just going to stand there and wait for my castmembers to sing them.”
Though he’s had plenty of experience onstage, the Broadway universe is new to Snider. He got some advice from contemporary and fellow Broadway star Sebastian Bach (of ’80s shredders Skid Row), but there was one thing he had to learn on the fly: “The biggest difference between a concert situation and a theater situation is that you can’t curse out the audience,” Snider revealed. “I’m used to addressing situations. If something is going on in the house that I don’t like at a concert, or if the audience is not energized or enthusiastic — or if they’re particularly energized and enthusiastic — I will stop a song just to comment on what’s going on. I quickly realized that was unacceptable on Broadway. I just have to stay in character and stay in the show.”
Snider is open to doing more shows once his run in “Rock of Ages” is up, though he said the schedule would probably keep him to limited runs. Plus, he’s not sure any other show would nail the poignancy “Rock of Ages” has for him.
“While it’s a comedy, it’s frighteningly accurate,” Snider said of the show. “Especially when it comes to frontmen, and how the rest of the band regards them as complete a–holes. And I sit there and feel shame. I was a pompous ass. But I feel better now.”

After multiple delays, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” arrived on the Great White Way Sunday night amid a series of technical snafus that marred the much-hyped musical, which officially opens on January 11.

With a reported budget in excess of $65 million and original music by U2′s Bono and The Edge, “Spider-Man” has become the most costly production in Broadway history and had already been delayed due to technical difficulties. On opening night, the musical had to be stopped five times, according to multiple reports, as the crew struggled to pull-off stunt work that had actors suspended in harnesses high in the air.
Granted, previews are meant for working out the kinks, but this kind of debut is rather fitting. After all, Peter Parker is a work-in-progress, a character forever trying to reconcile his regular-guy mindset with the abilities and responsibilities of a superhero. The show’s creators, too, share much in common with the web-slinging wonderboy.
“There are lots of similarities,” Bono told MTV News earlier this month. “He grew up in Queens. We grew up on the north side of Dublin — fairly humble origins. He falls in love with the girl next door. I married the girl next door. He starts to put on a silly costume … yes,” he trailed off with a sly smile.
The comparisons don’t end there. As The Edge explained it, whether you’re an arena-packing rock star or a science nerd bitten by a radioactive spider, you still have to deal with everyday life. “[H]e’s a superhero; he can do loads of stuff, but when he comes home, he’s put back in his place,” the guitarist said. “There’s nothing that he does out in the world that means anything when he’s with his loved ones.”
Hearing this, Bono happily declared he’s got more in common with one of Spider-Man’s archenemies than the Spidey himself. “I think Peter Parker’s more The Edge,” he said. “I’m more the Green Goblin.”
Said Edge, “You just want to be careful, because you know who wins that fight.”

Having earned a place in the hearts of moviegoers throughout the years, Leslie Nielsen has passed away at the age of 84.
According to breaking reports, the “Naked Gun” actor lost his battle with complications from pneumonia at a hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Sunday (November 28).
Releasing a statement, the Nielsen family told: ?We are saddened by the passing of beloved actor Leslie Nielsen, probably best remembered as Lt. Frank Drebin in The Naked Gun series of pictures, but who enjoyed a more than 60 year career in motion pictures and television.”

NEW YORK — Kanye West is nothing if not a showman, and on Tuesday, the rapper celebrated the release of his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, with a performance that was as daring and dashing as it was fraught with traces of the petulant MC of the past.
Shortly after midnight, West took to the stage at the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan accompanied by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and femcee/singer Teyana Taylor.
The trio launched into “Dark Fantasy,” the spirited opening number of ‘Ye’s new set.
Sporting a skin-tight dress, Taylor admirably belted out the chorus to the track and stuck around to ride shotgun with the G.O.O.D Music chief.
“New York City, make some noise,” West told the gathering crowd after the opening selections. “Today, I’m gonna do My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”
From there, West breezed through “Gorgeous,” “Power” and “All of the Lights,” the latter of which was a rumbling effort.
Nicki Minaj joined Yeezy on stage for some album-release unity when the DJ spun “Monster,” sans Jay-Z.
Rick Ross arrived onstage for the Bink-produced “Devil in a New Dress.”
When West teased the first few chords of “Runaway,” the crowd — which included Diddy, music executives Lyor Cohen and Sylvia Rhone, ?uestlove, comedian Aziz Ansari and Selita Ebanks — erupted with approval.
The dramatic rendition was easily the night’s highlight and featured artist Pusha T looked possessed on the microphone. Meanwhile, West was like a mad scientist pounding away on his MPC machine, creating musical backdrops to match almost each song.
After over an hour of performing, Yeezy closed the proceedings with a stirring, slowed-down rendition of the song “Lost in the World,” the song he’s slated to perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.
He reappeared on stage shortly after for an encore and powered through brief versions of “Christian Dior Denim Flow” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”
Although he finished with “Good Life,” it may have been the defiance of “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” that stuck with ‘Ye after the performance, when he spoke to the crowd.
“As you know, it’s been an extremely hard year for me,” he began. “But getting back to music, G.O.O.D. Fridays, and the album … I never thought I’d say this, I wanna thank the magazines for perfect scores across the board. I always felt like I could do anything.
“To do 100,000 digitally,” Ye continued, remarking on his first day tally in sales from Monday. “And slated to do 600,000 the first week. I’m not here to do mother—-ing politics. I’m here to make music. I’m not here to talk in no interviews; no one ask me any stupid f—ing questions.”

Drawing an end to another weekend of progress, Lindsay Lohan was spotted out at the Westfield Mall in Palm Springs, CA on Sunday morning (November 28).
Not there for shopping, the “Mean Girls” actress happened to be on-hand to attend a required AA class as part of her ongoing rehab requirements.
The sighting comes shortly after LiLo was dropped from the movie “Inferno,” with those involved claiming the move was in part because of problems landing insurance on the troubled actress.
Denying any such issues, Lindsay’s mom’s production company co-owner Ethan Terra has since stated that Miss Lohan “is 100% insurable and all she had to do was put up money as a bond and she would be paid for her job upon completion.”
Terra went on to say that numerous other job offers have been received – though no decisions as to accepting a new role have been made at this time.

This week’s “Glee” episode, “Furt,” featured not one, but two weddings — and not one, but two Bruno Mars songs. More important, it actually took the Kurt/bullying storyline somewhere. Celebrate with us and sing along!

So they wrote in a Nazi-hunter filled with maternal regret.
How can I blame them for wanting to include Carol?

A shame her singing voice now sounds a lot like her Tarzan yell
Is she coasting on her name?

Always one of he busier stretches of days at the theaters, Thanksgiving weekend brought out a range of new releases – though none of them were able to top last weekend’s big winner “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I”.
The Daniel Radcliffe/Emma Watson offering will have pulled in an approximate $81 million over the five day holiday weekend time-span, good enough to maintain the number one spot.
Aside from “Harry Potter,” Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi’s animated Disney feature “Tangled” did much better than expected by earning an estimated $73 million over the five day stretch.
Rounding out the top five over Thanksgiving weekend were “Megamind 3D” ($19.7 million), along with “Unstoppable” and “Burlesque” – which both were headed towards $17 million takes.

With another Thanksgiving upon us, celebrities are in the giving spirit. On Tuesday night, Chris Brown and Bow Wow kicked off some pre-Turkey Day festivities with a free concert for their Atlanta-area fans.
Decked out in a slate-gray suit and white kicks, Breezy rocked tracks like his Graffiti joint “I Can Transform Ya,” flanked by similarly dapper backup dancers as he turned out his signature athletic choreography.

The “Deuces” singer said he was down to gift concertgoers with a high-octane performance just in time for the holidays.
“It was fun, I had a great time,” Brown told MTV News. “I love giving back to the fans and everybody who got to come out who really don’t get a chance to come out and go to concerts and things like that.”
Also at the event, which was organized by beatsmith Polow Da Don and featured a carnival and turkey giveaway, was Breezy’s homey and fellow hitmaker Bow Wow. The Cash Money MC said he didn’t need any convincing to rock the crowd alongside his “Shortie Like Mine” collaborator — especially if it meant bringing some holiday cheer to deserving fans.
“It was only right that I came out, supported the homey,” Bow said. “He called me, wanted me to come out, perform the record, shut it down, and I told him it was nothing. And on top of that, it was for a positive cause.”
Coming down the pike from Breezy is the follow-up to Graffiti, which features the single “Yeah 3X.” The singer updated fans about the project in September.
“I’m putting out singles a lot right now, so everything’s coming together. But I definitely am gonna to say this and plug it quick: The name of my album is Fame, so make sure you check it out,” he said during a stop at an Austin, Texas, radio station.

Keeping up with their routine weekend family outings, Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren were spotted making their way around Beverly Hills with daughter Honor Marie on Saturday (November 27).
The adorable trio first dropped by a local park to work up an appetite on the playground equipment before proceeding on to grab up brunch at Jack n’ Jills restaurant.
The Alba/Warren family excursion comes shortly after Jess spoke with press about her desire to give Honor a sibling.
“Honor is so beautiful and I feel so enriched by being part of her life. She’s my main priority now and I want to give her the best life possible. Before she was born I was totally focused on my career, but now with Cash and our daughter I feel that I’m building a wonderful family. I would like to have more children at some point,” Alba revealed.
The 29-year-old actress added, “We didn’t plan on starting a family so soon but when it happened we realized what a beautiful moment it was. We’re a lot closer. The beauty of marriage and having a family is knowing you’re sharing everything with someone else and are committed to being part of each other’s lives. Cash and I understand that and together with our daughter, we want to have a wonderful life.”

Enjoying a week-ending mother/daughter outing, Miley Cyrus and mom Tish had a girls day on the town in Los Angeles, CA on Friday (November 26).
The pair first headed over to a local nail salon for a little pampering, with Miley making a range of interesting faces inside the beauty parlor, before grabbing up lunch at Panera Bread.
The sighting comes as Miss Cyrus continues to deal with being in between her parents’ divorce – with tabloid insiders telling that she’s been pushing her dad, Billy Ray, for a reunion.
