Atlanta rapper released from prison and taken to community living facility for the last month of his sentence.

T.I. was released from prison early Wednesday morning (August 31) and is on his way to a halfway house to serve out the rest of his 11-month sentence for probation violation.

MTV News received confirmation from Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke that T.I. was released from Forrest City Correctional Facility in Arkansas at 7:29 a.m. and is on his way to a community living facility. The name of the facility will not be released until after his arrival. The Atlanta rapper has been serving time for a probation violation stemming from his arrest in Los Angeles on drug charges last year.

The King has already taken to Twitter to announce his return. “Feels great to be back where I belong…Back in the arms of those who need me the most,” he tweeted from his verified @Tip account. “The storm is over & da sun back out. IT’S OUR TIME TO SHINE SHAWTY!!!!! Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending!!!!”

Fans will be getting an intimate look at T.I.’s return to freedom in December thanks to a new show with VH1. In the still untitled series, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look at T.I., and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris, as he tries to walk the straight and narrow and stay out of prison for good. The series is set to premiere on December 5 at 10 p.m.

Previously, T.I. had a reality series titled “T.I.’s Road to Redemption” that ran in 2009 on MTV. The show followed the MC as he provided guidance to teenagers on destructive paths while he himself prepared to serve a yearlong sentence for felony gun charges.

Britney Spears may have been looking back on her impressive career during a Jo Calderone-helmed tribute at Sunday night’s VMAs, but there’s still so much for fans to look forward to. The singer has a lot up her sleeve after taking home the Moonman for Best Pop Video for her “Till the World Ends” clip and the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award — and she revealed all to MTV News.

There’s been some hot debate about what the singer’s next Femme Fatale single is going to be, and finally her loyal fans are getting the confirmation they’ve been waiting for.

“I don’t if I’m at liberty to tell,” she teased MTV News backstage at the VMAs. “But I will anyways: It’s ‘Criminal.’ ”

The slow jam should make for some interesting visual fodder, and Spears told us she knows what the video will look like, but she’s going to keep everyone waiting a little longer. “Actually the song, when I first heard it, it’s really different and it’s not anything I’ve heard like this before. So I really wanted to deliver this song. I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting,” she said, teasing, “You’ll have to see.”

She’s also set to hit the road again when the Femme Fatale Tour heads to Europe. She’ll be joined by Joe Jonas for select dates.

I’m not sure how many times this has happened to you, but when you’re in the middle of recording voice-overs during the Video Music Awards and all of a sudden you get an email from the assistant of your bosses’ boss telling you that you have to interview Britney Spears in her dressing room in 10 minutes — man, that’s weird.

Because it’s Britney Spears. One of the hugest pop stars on the planet, constant target of the tabloids, decided enigma. She’s not exactly forthcoming with the press (for reasons that are certainly understandable) and not particularly interested in sitting down for a chat — especially when said chat is supposed to take place in her dressing room, surrounded by her team of publicists, makeup artists and friends. Needless to say, the odds of the whole thing going down in a ball of flames are pretty high.

And yet, there I was on Sunday night, winding my way through the backstage corridors of the Nokia Theatre, the VMAs literally happening all around me, on my way to meet Britney. Armed only with an email (and a rather paltry level of security clearance), I talked my way past the stone-faced security guards — who, it should be noted, didn’t seem to believe that I was about to interview Britney Spears either — found my way to her dressing-room door and awaited further instructions. As I stood there, my mind raced: What, exactly, was I going to ask her, anyway? And, perhaps more importantly, what is she really like?

After a few minutes, the door swung open, one of her publicists poked his head out and told me, quite matter-of-factly, “Britney’s ready.” I entered the tiny dressing room, scanned the faces lining the walls (publicist one, publicist two, manager Larry Rudolph, makeup artist, sister Jamie Lynn) and suddenly came face to face with Britney herself, eyes wide and sparkling, head cocked slightly, big smile on her face. I noticed the tiny pair of red dice she has tattooed on her left wrist, the hem of her black dress, the way she crossed her ankles. And then, I noticed she was looking right at me.

“Hi, I’m Britney,” she said.

No kidding.

I am happy to report that Britney Spears is a very nice person; she is funny and carries herself with a relaxed grace that belies her superstardom. We spoke about her VMA tribute — during which she spent much of the time praising others — and how, even after winning a boatload of awards, she’s still blown away each and every time her name is called. Shoot, we even laughed about Lady Gaga’s alter ego, Jo Calderone (“She’s definitely in character,” Brit laughed). In fact, the thing that struck me the most about her was her quick wit: She cracks jokes like they’re going out of style.

And while I guess you could say that I learned an awful lot about Britney on Sunday night, the biggest lesson was probably this: Basically everything you think you know about her is wrong. It’s sort of a shame she doesn’t do more interviews, because, really, I think most folks would leave feeling the same way I do. Then again, I can understand why she doesn’t. It’s sort of an uphill battle at this point.

Regardless, interviewing her was definitely a highlight, and not just because she’s press-shy. It most certainly ranks as my greatest VMA moment, even ahead of the pre-show I hosted live Sunday night. So the next time you get a panicked email and an invite to sit down with Britney, I highly recommend you respond immediately. It will definitely be worth your time.

‘When the time comes, it’s gonna come,’ Rose tells MTV News on VMA Pre-Show black carpet.

Is wedding planning on the busy itineraries of Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose? The hip-hop power couple has never been shy when it comes to public displays of affection, and apparently they aren’t timid about discussing marriage, either.

“We discuss it all the time; like he said, we’re very much in love,” Rose told MTV News while standing next to her “Black and Yellow” rapper beau on the VMA Pre-Show black carpet. “But, ya know, we’re just going to take our time and just enjoy each other right now. We’re both really busy and we work really hard and when the time comes, it’s gonna come.”

Besides working on some music and a film with her man, Rose said having a baby with Wiz is also on her agenda. The former Ford model and ex-girlfriend of Kanye West recently admitted to Global Grind that she’s eager to procreate with the Pittsburgh rapper. “I want to be a mom really bad. I really want babies,” she told the website. “I’ll be 28 in October, and my maternal instinct is ready.”

In March, Wiz appeared on MTV News’ “RapFix Live,” and Amber Rose joined him on the couch for a portion of the interview. Rose revealed what attracted her to the Best New Artist nominee.

“He’s really funny, he’s really charming,” she said. “I didn’t know much about his music at first and, obviously, he became a good friend. I started listening to his music. He’s awesome, he’s talented. He’s amazing.”

Lil Wayne closed out Sunday’s 2011 MTV VMAs by singing, rapping and rocking, but his night was actually just getting started. Tha Carter IV became available at midnight, and Weezy celebrated the album’s long-awaited release at the Boulevard3 nightclub in Hollywood.

A number of Weezy F.’s fellow artists were in the spot to personally give the New Orleans rapper their regards. “Wayne dropped his album at the VMAs like a boss, that’s something an artist can only dream of,” Rick Ross told MTV News.

“Wayne is a rock star. He is just mega right now,” added Rocsi Diaz of BET’s 106 & Park.

DJ Khaled, who featured Wayne on a pair of songs (“I’m On One,” “Welcome to My Hood”) on his latest album, was also in the house. “I’m happy for him and I’m happy for all his success, and I’m a fan as well,” the Miami DJ/producer said while seated between Rozay and Drake.

Even “American Idol” contestant Chris Richardson gave Lil Tunechi props, saying, “All the songs on Wayne’s albums are just intelligent and new and fresh.”

Some attendees already were familiar with the music on the just-released Tha Carter IV, which leaked on Thursday. “My favorite song probably is ‘Blunt Blowin’,’ ‘Abortion’ [or] ‘I’m Good,’ ” YMCMB rapper Tyga said.

Cash Money singer/songwriter and producer Kevin Rudolf also professed to listening to plenty of Weezy, as did Young Money president and artist Mack Maine, who added the reasoning by behind his favorite cuts on Tha Carter IV. “I’m a lady’s man so I like ‘She Will’ and I like ‘So Special’ a lot,” said Maine.

Not long after learning he had won the Moonman for Best New Artist at Sunday’s Video Music Awards, Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator seemed to have blown up too big to even do his own talking. Instead of delivering a straight-on post-victory interview with MTV News, he whispered answers about the win into his groupmate’s ear.

After a question about whether he was at all disappointed to earn Best New Artist and not Video of the Year (it went to Katy Perry’s “Firework”), OF’s Jasper Dolphin responded, “I just wanted one, I’m fine.

“I like cheese,” Jasper added, as Tyler, the Creator whispered the responses into his ear.

While accepting his Best New Artist award, the rapper told the crowd he was on the verge of tears. So, we asked him if it had been hard to hold them back. “It was really hard, but [the tears] came out when I fell offstage into Kanye’s arms,” he said, speaking again through Jasper Dolphin.

After nabbing the Best New Artist statue from presenters Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez earlier Sunday night, Tyler delivered a mostly bleeped-out speech. “Yo, I’m excited as f— right now, yo,” he said. “I wanted this sh– since I was 9. I’m about to cry. This is for my little brother Earl. He’s not here right now. I really can’t believe I’m here right now. I didn’t write a thank you speech. I don’t know. F—. To all the kids watching, you can do this sh–. Thank you.”

The 20-year-old bested fellow Best New Artist nominees Big Sean (“My Last,” featuring Chris Brown), Foster the People (“Pumped Up Kicks”), Kreayshawn (“Gucci Gucci”) and Wiz Khalifa (“Black and Yellow”).

Beyoncé set Twitter on fire when she hinted on the VMA black carpet that she was set to make a big announcement, placing a hand on her stomach. Speculation turned into overwhelming joy when the pop superstar announced her pregnancy at the end of her “Love on Top” performance by unbuttoning her sparkling blazer and rubbing her noticeable bump.

Bey’s public announcement came as a bit of a surprise, given that the songstress usually gets media-shy when asked anything about her personal life during interviews. MTV News reached out to pop-culture expert Rob Shuter, columnist for HuffPost Celebrity, for his thoughts on how she revealed the big news. “I thought it was so brilliant that somebody as private as Beyoncé and Jay-Z would make their own rules to address the fact that she’s clearly pregnant,” he said.

Shuter explained that the power couple’s private nature made the revelation all the more joyous. “I love that this couple who has made it a policy to not talk about their personal life would once again do that, let us in on this huge secret, without ever really uttering any words.”

Kim Kardashian, a real pro at living publicly, told MTV News that she admired B’s choice of venue. “I thought it was really cool of her to come out and show that at the VMAs, ’cause music is her outlet. She could have done it with any magazine or news station, but she chose her home.”

Beyoncé is now among the ranks of other starlets who have chosen creative venues to reveal the anticipated news. Take a look at how some other A-list moms revealed their baby bumps:

Britney Spears, 2006
Surprises come by the dozen when we’re talking about Britney Spears’ life and career, and she had another one up her sleeve when she took to “The Late Show With David Letterman” in May 2006 to confirm her second pregnancy with then-husband Kevin Federline. “Don’t worry, Dave. It’s not yours,” the pop star laughingly told the late-night host after he circled around the question. Spears gave birth to her son Jayden James Federline that September and filed for divorce just two months later.

Jennifer Lopez, 2007
It was only appropriate that J.Lo chose a concert as her venue to announce that she and husband Marc Anthony were having a baby — he was the tour’s co-headliner. “We didn’t want to say anything before, because we didn’t want to take away from the tour, but Marc and I are expecting,” the pop star revealed to fans during the Miami stop of her El Cantante Tour. Anthony then turned to his wife, kissed her belly and told the crowd that he “did not expect her to say anything.” Lopez gave birth to fraternal twins Emme and Maximilian Muñiz, in early 2008.

Ashlee Simpson, 2008
Ashlee Simpson and then-husband Pete Wentz make our list not because of their announcement but because of their steadfast policy before they made it: deny, deny, deny. Simpson even shied away from the question during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” as the pregnancy rumors were at their height. “Well, that has been going on for quite a while. That is something that I choose personally not to discuss,” Simpson said, before cracking a joke about whether she looks like she can eat “10 cheese burgers or something.” Almost a month later, the couple took to FriendsOrEnemies.com to confirm the news, writing, “While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child.”

Jessica Alba, 2011
Some use their Facebook news feed to talk about work or current events. Some use it to talk with friends. Jessica Alba used it to announce her pregnancy to the world. “It’s been a while since I’ve been on FB & I thought I’d drop by to let you all in on some exciting news>Honor is going to be a Big Sister!” the actress wrote in February. Just a couple weeks ago, Alba gave birth to a baby girl named Haven Garner Warren and, as expected, took to her Facebook profile to announce the news.

Hilary Duff also favors the Internet for her personal revelations. In celebration of her one-year anniversary to husband Mike Comrie, the starlet offered fans with an extra special blog post. “I can’t believe it has already been a year, time really flies when you’re having fun!” she wrote on her website in mid-August. “We also want to share the exciting news that …… BABY MAKES THREE!!!” Since then, the former Disney actress has taken to her Twitter to dish on her many pregnancy cravings: “Today it was rice crispy treats! trying really hard to give them ALL away!!!”

After performing at the 2011 VMAs, Beyoncé Knowles unbuttoned her sparkly jacket and rubbed her belly — announcing her pregnancy to the world. The camera then cut to Jay-Z and Kanye West in the audience and their over-the-top jubilant reaction.

Married to Jay for three years, the star has said time and time again that she planned on having a baby by the time she was 30; well, B turns 30 early next month.

The power couple tied the knot back in 2008 in a private ceremony at Jay-Z’s New York apartment, and since then, there have been years of pregnancy rumors that they’ve shot down.

In June, the singer told CNN interviewer Piers Morgan that she wanted to get pregnant.

“I feel like a woman. I feel like I’m very aware of who I am. I feel great and I feel like 30 is the ideal age [to start a family], because you’re mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards, and not be afraid, too polite — but you’re young enough to be a young woman,” she said. “I’m so looking forward to it.”

The singer added, “I always said I’d have a baby at 30. But I also said I’m going to retire at 30. … Only God knows.”

In that same interview, Beyoncé talked about her husband.

“Jay and I have kind of made a decision that we want to be known for our music and not our relationships or scandals. But he is amazing,” she said. “I definitely had a very natural friendship and connection with him. We’ve been together for a very long time and I’m very happy. Love is the foundation of everything, everything I do. My music is inspired by love — from my family, my husband, my sister.”

No word on when the baby is due.

Legendary guitarist jams with Lady Gaga’s male alter ego on ‘Yoü and I.’

He’s one of the world’s greatest rock guitarists, holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics, is a commander of the Order of the British Empire and he jammed with Lady Gaga at the VMAs. OK, it was Jo Calderone, but you know what we mean.

And if you didn’t know who Queen’s Brian May was before, you certainly did after his fiery cameo during Gaga’s VMA-opening “Yoü and I” on Sunday night. Wearing all black, the British rock icon came out midway through a drag-king-tastic set for the ages, bumping hips with Jo as he/she busted open a beer and ripping off some of his legendary, spiraling riffs. Smiling broadly and walking carefully around the unpredictable Calderone, May leaned in close as Jo/Gaga threatened to expose his/her chest and shared a heartfelt hug with his new-era gender-bending pal.

May, 64, played the majestic guitar solo on the recorded version of the song, which was produced by rock master Mutt Lange (Shania Twain, AC/DC). So it was fitting that he would join Mother Monster onstage at the Nokia Theatre to re-create the epic hookup between rock and pop royalty for the big show.

Gaga, an avowed classic-rock fan, was looking for a big, meaty sound on the fourth single from Born This Way, and May was just the man for the gig. He formed legendary theatrical rock act Queen in 1971 with late singer Freddie Mercury, bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor. Together, the quartet made rock history on albums such as Sheer Heart Attack, A Night at the Opera, News of the World, Jazz and The Game, which spawned such classic-rock radio staples as “Killer Queen,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” “We Are the Champions,” “Fat Bottomed Girls,” “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.”

The group’s 1984 album, The Works, also featured the song that would give Gaga her now-inescapable stage name, “Radio Gaga.” While setting sales and concert-attendance records with Queen, May also explored some solo work in the 1980s, collaborating on the album Star Fleet Project with Van Halen’s Eddie Van Halen and continuing his solo output with 1991′s Back to the Light, which he released after Mercury’s death in 1991.

He’s also performed and recorded sporadically with the remaining members of Queen and appeared on such reality singing shows as England’s “The X Factor” and “American Idol” in 2009, where he jammed with winner and runner-up Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.
