The action flick will feature the ‘Twilight’ actress as the leading lady and co-executive producer.

Since landing the role of the accident-prone heroine in “The Twilight Saga,” Kristen Stewart has sought gritty indie roles that test her acting abilities and cause a stir among fans, the first being her role as a stripper and prostitute in “Welcome to the Rileys.” She then cut off her long locks and donned a choppy, black bob to play Joan Jett in “The Runaways.” And later this year, she’ll portray 16-year-old marijuana enthusiast Marylou in the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s novel, “On the Road.”

But that’s just the beginning for the 22-year-old actress. According to Variety, Stewart is set to star in the bold action flick “Cali.”

The film centers on Mya (Stewart) and Chris, a couple from San Fernando Valley who sell a fake snuff film and disappear with the money. But Mya — who’s thought to be dead — must head back to Cali years later to save the younger sister she left behind. When she and Chris return, they’re faced with an array of characters, including “angry former business partners, homicidal porn stars, stoner vet techs [and] an unstoppable killing machine in a cowboy hat.”

Michael Diliberti (“30 Minutes or Less”) penned the script and will produce along with Voltage Production’s Craig J. Flores (“300″) and Zev Foreman. New School Media’s Brian Levy is the executive producer alongside Nicolas Chartier (“The Hurt Locker”) of Voltage and Stewart herself. This will be the actress’ first producing credit.

“Kristen is a talented and dynamic actor, with a proved box office draw,” Flores told Variety. “Her role in ‘Cali’ will be edgy and sexy. It will no doubt push the envelope on the public’s view of Kristen’s wide-ranging abilities. Voltage is thrilled to have her as a partner on this fantastic film.”

The project is still in the early stages of development, so there’s no release date yet, but audiences can catch the actress in “Snow White and the Huntsman” in theaters June 1. Later, Stewart’s dynamic year will continue when she reprises her role as Bella Cullen in

Pop star tweets standard and deluxe album covers for June 19 release, cryptically telling fans, ‘expect the unexpected.’

Judging by the cover art for Justin Bieber‘s Believe album, the 18-year-old pop star is well aware of one of his best assets: his boyish good looks. The cover, which Bieber tweeted on Friday evening (April 27), is simply a black-and-white close-up of his face with the word “BELIEVE” stamped in a yellow caution-tape font underneath.

“Here is the #BELIEVEalbumCover standard version,” he tweeted, followed by a second tweet that included a sepia-toned version of the same image: “and this is the DELUXE #BELIEVEalbumCover – #52DAYS – excited? expect the unexpected.”

After posting the Believe album cover on Friday, Bieber retweeted one fan’s over-the-top reaction to the artwork: “That awkward moment when I almost ran over a lady and hit the car in front of me cuz I saw the #BELIEVEAlbumCover lololol,” @julieannxoxo wrote.

Bieber just revealed the June 19 Believe release date last week on “The Voice,” also bringing along a teaser from his yet-unreleased “Boyfriend” video. Even after revealing that sneak peek, Bieber was spotted shooting new scenes for the highly anticipated video, kissing a mystery brunette (hey, that’s not Selena!) on set.

“The concept of this video, I mean, it’s not like a steady concept,” Bieber told MTV News while shooting the video back in March. “It’s not like ‘Justin follows this girl to this spot.’ No, it’s a bunch of amazing scenes: like a fire scene, we have an ice scene.

“It’s kind of like bouncing back and forth,” he said. “And then there’s scenes of me and just a bunch of girl dancers, and just some great shots, great artistic shots, great shots of me smiling. It’s fun.”

Singer tells MTV News ‘Fuerza Bruta’ matches the ‘more artistic’ music on his upcoming album.

This Saturday (and this Saturday only), Usher will appear in New York City’s “Fuerza Bruta,” an off-Broadway show where no one speaks, but the story is told through bright lights, music and dancing. In the lead role of Running Man, Usher will also use the show to preview his June album release, Looking for Myself.

Fans in the audience will likely get closer than they’ve ever been to the singer, as the audience stands during the performance, becoming another member of the company. With several weeks until his album release, Usher explained to MTV News at a rehearsal why he wanted to use this show to preview tracks.

“I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of ‘Fuerza Bruta’ would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there],” he explained of tying this performance to his album. “When we began to explore different directions [for the performance like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine … and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked.”

The show will stream his entire album, which drops June 12, and he thinks the mind-bending artistry of “Fuerza Bruta” works with the sound he’s created on it. “This is more artistic of an album than I’ve had in history,” he said. “And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me, but I was willing to at least try it. There were many times I had seen the show and I only hoped that I would be able to make it happen.”

It’s more than a month until first Kristen Stewart film is released, but David Koepp is reportedly in talks to pen a sequel script.

Despite the fact that we’re still a little more than a month away from the release of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” there are already rumblings of a sequel.

According to Deadline, Universal has apparently already begun talking to screenwriter David Koepp about writing a sequel to the film, which is one of this summer’s most highly anticipated movies. Koepp certainly has enough credibility in drafting scripts for big blockbusters: He has screenplay credits on “Jurassic Park,” “Mission: Impossible,” “Spider-Man,” “War of the Worlds” and “Men in Black III.”

Naturally, we don’t know what happens to the characters over the course of the film, but star Kristen Stewart has already expressed interest in reprising her role as the titular Snow White.

“To be totally candid and honest with you, when I first signed on to this thing, the idea of doing another franchise was like, ‘Wow, [we'll] cross that bridge when it comes.’ It was something so far outside my realm of thinking,” she told MTV News when asked if she’d be game for more action and adventure as the fairest one of all. “I was so focused on the first one, and I thought, ‘Maybe, maybe,’ but I’ve got stars in my eyes. I’m literally over the moon about what I’m doing right now,” she said of her work on “Huntsman.” “Yes, I would love to [do more 'Snow White' films].”

“Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders is reportedly Universal’s choice to helm the sequel if it happens, and judging from his positive comments about working with Stewart, it seems likely the pair could team up again.

“Kristen is a very driven, visceral, intuitive actress. From a director’s point of view, it’s great to get into her headspace,” Sanders said. “We did a lot of work together on the script and character, and she really helped inform me how that character was feeling, which really helped my process getting the character onscreen. Kristen was doing a lot of her stunt work, she was riding horses, she was jumping from high precipices into freezing cold water, she was fighting dwarves — she’s gung-ho.”

Looking hot to trot, Adrienne Bailon was busy filming her new reality show ‘Empire Girls’ on the beach in Miami on Friday (April 27).

The 28-year-old was clad in a unique black swimsuit as she joined alongside her BFF co-star Julissa Bermudez in strutting the sandy Atlantic Ocean shoreline while later attending the Maserati Polo World Cup.

As for their new show, the docu-series follows Bermudez and Bailon in New York City as they attempt to conquer the cutthroat entertainment world all while looking for love and happiness along the way.

The premiere episode will hit the airwaves on June 3 at 9PM ET/PT on the Style network.

Seoul, South Korea, set list heavy on new material, but Gaga’s biggest hits come out to play.

Lady Gaga kicked off her hotly awaited Born This Way Ball at Seoul, South Korea’s Olympic Stadium on Friday (April 27) in front of 45,000 fans, and despite protests from Christian groups saying Mother Monster was “obscene” and could “taint” young people with her performance, the concert appears to have gone on without incident.

Intrepid Twitter fans are already showing off pictures and video of the BTW Ball’s enormous Gothic castle backdrop and myriad costume changes, making it clear that Gaga has outdone even her own Monster Ball in terms of spectacle.

While we wait for reviews to trickle in from halfway around the world, one thing is certain: No minors were corrupted at the show. Earlier this month, the Korea Media Rating Board decided to elevate the age rating for the concert from 12 to 18, prohibiting minors from seeing the concert. When the board notified Gaga’s tour promotion company and a sponsor of the change in age restrictions, it did not offer a reason why the show — which at the time was still in rehearsals and had not been reviewed publicly — was considered unsuitable for children under 18.

The likely catalyst for the board’s decision came more into focus as the concert neared and protests from a group of conservative Christians calling itself the Alliance for Sound Culture in Sexuality ramped up. The group covered Seoul with posters accusing Gaga of “spreading unhealthy sexual culture” through “lewd lyrics and performances.”

The superstar and her fans, however, were undeterred. Though she tweeted her hopes that the Korea Media Rating Board would reverse its decision (it didn’t), she continued on as planned. Many fans reportedly arrived at the show wearing versions of Gaga’s most well-known flamboyant costumes, and there have been no reports of disturbances at the concert.

Before the show, Gaga tweeted, “I can you hear you Korea. I’m shaking.”

Gaga’s performance was heavy on material from her Born this Way album, though her biggest hits, including “Bad Romance,” Poker Face” and “Just Dance,” were represented.

You expect celebs like George Clooney, Charlize Theron, Steven Spielberg and even MTV News’ own Sway to get invites to Washington’s annual night off from partisan bickering replaced with biting political jokes known as the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. It’s a tradition to mix real Hollywood with the biggest stars in politics at the gathering, which over the years has made for some truly odd place settings.

This year is no exception, as tabloid staples Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan have made the cut, meaning they will be rubbing elbows with the likes of Zooey Deschanel, Paul Rudd, Stevie Wonder, “Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson, Mary J. Blige, “The Artist” star dog Uggie, Diane Keaton, John Legend and “Portlandia” co-stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. This is actually Kardashian’s second go-round, as she was a guest of Fox News in 2010, though this is the first invite for Lohan.

While the Washington Post noted that the picks tend to be a bit safer these days, Lohan and Kardashian follow in the tradition of such past in-the-headlines-right-now choices as Ozzy Osbourne in 2002 and Ellen DeGeneres in 1997. The comedian was making her first appearance in public with a girlfriend that year, when she appeared with Anne Heche shortly after coming out as a lesbian.

But because media organizations get to submit their own guest list, it makes a weird Tinseltown sense that curvy Sofia Vergara got the nod from ABC News along with “Modern Family” co-stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen. The Huffington Post reserved a slot for Dakota Fanning, as well as Daniel Day Lewis and “True Blood” co-stars and mates Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, while Newsweek made room at a table for Reese Witherspoon.

Lohan and Kardashian aren’t the only strange bedfellows to make the cut recently. In 2011, you might have seen such invitees as “American Pie” alum Jason Biggs hanging with Bristol Palin, snowboarder Shaun White, “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Brooke Burke, Paula Abdul and Zach Galifianakis.

The 2010 list was even weirder, ranging from Betty White and Jon Bon Jovi to Chace Crawford, Enrique Iglesias, Ashley Greene, Justin Bieber and Jessica Simpson. Not to be outdone, in 2009 you got the almost-First Vice Husband, Todd Palin, as well as former “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi, then-husband/wife Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Tyra Banks, hero pilot “Sully” Sullenberger, George Lucas, Sting, Ludacris, Alicia Keys and Natasha Bedingfield.

Jimmy Kimmel is hosting this year’s show, and while Kardashian’s current man, Kanye West,
 is reportedly finishing up a short film in Qatar, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be flying in to be by her side on Saturday night. Kardashian will be attending with her mother, Kris Jenner, as a guest of Fox News, while Fox talking head Greta Van Susteren put Lohan on the list.

‘I don’t have problems with people, because if I do, I address it,’ Wiz tells ‘RapFix Live.’

Wiz Khalifa isn’t interested in beefing with Waka Flocka Flame. In fact, he isn’t interested in beefing with anyone.

“I don’t have problems with people, because if I do, I address it,” he said when he appeared on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live.” “If I feel someone disrespected me or if I feel like somebody was mentioning me in an indirect way I’ma find out how to talk to that person and then we’ll squash it from there.”

There have been rumors of a Wiz and Waka tiff, but it wasn’t until Flocka’s December interview with DJ Kay Slay on his Shade 45 satellite radio show that eyebrows began to rise. During the interview, Waka said that Wiz had “no swag” and “hyped” his way to the top.

Rather than address his feelings in the media, Khalifa said he’d rather wait to speak to the “O Let’s Do It” rapper face to face. “What would I say to him? I really want to say it to him. We’ll save it for that, it don’t gotta be a public thing. It don’t gotta be a peace meeting or nothing like that.”

On Tuesday, Waka appeared on Angie Martinez’s Hot 97 radio show in New York, and when he was asked about his problems with Wiz, Flocka said the issue was “deaded,” but he didn’t back down from his original statement. “I voiced my opinion because it’s true and it’s facts,” he said before making some type of amends. “That’s a nice guy he makes good music, I got cousins who like his music.”

Whatever the case, Wiz won’t feed into the negativity. “I never felt no ill will, he has his lane and when his songs come on in the club, people go crazy,” Wiz said. “And people like to get high to Wiz Khalifa, so get used to it, baby.”

Actor opens up about the challenges of getting into the tortured mind of Edgar Allan Poe.

It goes without saying that in order to achieve an impressive onscreen performance, an actor must enter into the mind, body, and environment of the character he or she is portraying. While fictionalized characters require imagination and innovation, historical figures depend on research and character study. And few historical individuals are more dark, complex and mysterious than Edgar Allan Poe.

MTV News recently spoke with veteran thespian John Cusack, who portrays the legendary poet and storyteller in the upcoming film “The Raven”, and asked what it takes to really enter into the world of such a puzzling man.

“It’s like an app, right? Like on your phone, ‘Go to Darkness.’ You press the Poe app,” Cusack joked.

“That’s sort of how the psyche works, too, in a way,” he clarified. “So, I think you just try to activate it and bring it to life.”

So, how did Cusack bring it to life? On top of reading Poe’s works and studied his biography, healso tried to tap into his emotions.

“If you think of movies like in a dream language, then there’s kind of a dream logic to it,” Cusack said. “And then you just follow the feelings. You use the feelings, I think that’s what it is.”

“The Raven” hits theaters April 27, so fans of Poe and his stories will soon discover how Cusack brings the horror-writer back to life.

On location for the second day of her guest role filming efforts, Lindsay Lohan puffed away on a cigarette during a break from shooting scenes for “Glee” in Los Angeles on Thursday (April 26).

The “Mean Girls” starlet looked a bit bedraggled while clad in a leather jacket and form fitting trousers as she hung out with show regular Cory Monteith as they sought shelter from the rain under a tent.

Hopefully, the second day on set goes a bit more smoothly that her “Glee” debut – as a source told E! News, “Lindsay was a total nightmare yesterday. She was three hours late in the morning, and when she did finally arrive, she just didn’t want to be there. She did not want to work. She had not memorized her lines, and she kept disappearing so no one could find her.”

Defending his oft-troubled client, Miss Lohan’s rep, Steve Honig, called the negative comments a “misunderstanding”, explaining, “The production team came to us and said that they wanted to start [with Lindsay] right after lunch, which was at 2. They wanted to begin with Lindsay at 3, so that meant she had a lot of time where she wasn’t doing anything. That’s why people didn’t see her. She was then in hair and makeup and began after lunch at 3.”

Honig added, “If there was a problem yesterday, I would have just said ‘no comment,’ however I can’t ignore this because this is utter B.S. This is a classic example of people trying to bash Lindsay. She busted her ass yesterday and is back on set again today.”

‘It makes me laugh thinking about it,’ singer tells People of her pre-baby beauty regime.

Beyoncé loves her some heels. In the days leading up to the birth of her baby, Blue Ivy, Queen B was spotted around New York with her hubby, Jay-Z, and her stilettos. People magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman has opened up about wanting to stay as glam as possible, right up until she went into labor.

“I didn’t feel that I looked beautiful during birth — but who does? After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight, with my swollen lips and cheeks, I barely recognized myself,” she said in the issue hitting newsstands Friday, Pressparty.com reports. “I tried my best to roller-set my hair and I wore my [lip] gloss when I arrived at the hospital.”

But all of that hard work went out the window once the really hard work of having the baby kicked in. “I committed to the end and wore my kitten heels. It makes me laugh thinking about it,” she recalled. “But after many hours of labor, I didn’t care how I looked. It was all about the miracle that God gave me — the opportunity to deliver a human being.”

Beyoncé may not have felt hot in the hospital, but fans were certainly surprised by how hot she looked for her first post-baby appearance, hitting the New York party scene to celebrate Jay-Z’s Carnegie Hall shows in February, weeks after giving birth. The singer herself was surprised by how quickly she managed to look so good.

“I’m proud that my waist came back so fast. … I had to get my tone back. I’m definitely softer,” she said. “But I feel my body bouncing back. Whatever was tight and muscular, like my legs, I’m seeing it come back. You just have to work at it.”

Beyoncé will return to the stage next month for several shows in Atlantic City. She’s also reportedly working on new music to follow up 2011′s 4.

Tending to her busy schedule, Selena Gomez was spotted making her rounds in the Los Angeles area on Wednesday (April 25).

The former Disney star first headed to a business meeting in Encino before changing up outfits and meeting her mom for lunch at Ca ‘Del SOLE in Studio City.

Miss Gomez recently revealed that her inspiration for creating her own fragrance came from Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, explaining, “I’ve always wanted to [create my own fragrance] since Mary-Kate and Ashley had their little body sprays – I loved those and was obsessed with them.”

With a little bit of work, the 19-year-old accomplished that dream and named her perfume simply “Selena Gomez”.

Hitting stores across America, Selena delved into the reasoning behind naming it after herself and also hinted that another scent may soon follow, telling Us Weekly, “It’s called my name, because I didn’t want to get all philosophical with my first one. I wanted it to be representing me so it’s really fun, very sophisticated and also fruity. The only way I can describe it is yummy!”
